Little harassing in the bluegrass...

Nothing like wrapping it up in maroon and white yesterday was it?!?!?!?!! We couldn't believe we pulled it out but in a way we can...we really ARE improving and it's so much fun to watch. The rest of the season should be interesting...LK is so fired up for what COULD happen against AL, AR & UM....we shall see!

My parents came up to visit this weekend and I was so glad!! Larkin actually had a guys weekend so he wasn't here :( But he had a great time as I knew he would! Mom & Dad and I watched the game and did a little cleaning and cooking around here. My dad is REALLY good in the kitchen so he wanted to have a little "cooking class" yesterday. He showed me his version of a pot roast which I already knew was excellent...glad he could share his secret with me!! I have to say that I have come a long way on the roast thing, though, because when I was little I use to think it was pure torture to have roast, rice, and milk to drink...that was the worst combination I could have thought of then; however, my tastes have changed just a little bit and I enjoy it more now!

I can't believe the weekend is almost over...I feel like it was just Friday afternoon an hour ago. This week will be a little crazy in the way of travels but should be a fun one. My dear friend, Courtney Gray, is getting married on Friday in Lexington, KY. I am headed to Nashville on Tuesday night to stay with my friend, Rachel, and break up the trip a little bit and then will head the rest of the way on Wednesday. Everything starts Thursday morning...It should be a fun week so I am sure I will have lots of pictures to post when I get back!

I will probably manage to find a way to give a little shout out on Halloween...and speaking of, I am so sad we missed our chance on a Halloween party Saturday night....I am so not creative when it comes to choosing who/what we will be so in that regard maybe it was a good thing :)...I know we missed a great time, though, and some great costumes!! :)

I am off to watch the Red Sox with a beloved fan...and if they win you might just hear a little cheering coming from the big city :)

JOY

Larkin and I just got back from small group bible study. We have been going to church at The Orchard in Tupelo and we decided to join a small group. They don't have Sunday School, but they put alot of emphasis on these groups. SO after visiting different churches in Booneville & Tupelo I think this is where we have ended up. We look forward to going every Sunday...we hate to miss....it's been such a blessing.

We are reading the book of Philippians in bible study and discussed the first chapter tonight. The theme, as many of you know, is joy. Having joy is something I always want to have, but I admit that sometimes my joy is dependent on my circumstances. I am slowly but surely learning that is not where true joy comes from. Of course, we can be happy from the good happenings in our life but that's different. I pray often that no matter what I may be facing or going through that it would not take away my joy. I want to have joy in all circumstances...good and bad. Of course, some things can rob me of my joy...like when I worry...but I am working on that :)

I am looking forward to going through the rest of the book and onto my all-time favorite verse....the one I have probably said to myself a million times in my life and will probably say two million more..."Do not be anxious about anything but in everything, through prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God, and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

May we all have a little more joy in our hearts because we CAN!

Oh so tired....

after a weekend with Camp :)

A little M-I-A

So it has been a while since my last post. I must say that I am kind of on the same page with LT when it comes to my lack of blogging...it's a combination of craziness & not really much worthy of blogging about :) and the fact that I have left the camera behind on several occasions doesn't help much either!

We have made it to Starkville the past few weekends. My parents joined us for the homecoming game and we were so glad they did. We had a great time together. We saw alot of family and friends we hadn't seen in a while so that is always good. We did manage to do a little tailgating this past weekend. There is a group of Sigma Chi's that Larkin went to school with that set up a tent for a few games and of course TN was one they had planned on. It was fun seeing everybody. It had been a while. We also did a little celebrating for Kendy's birthday that night at Anthony's. Of course it was yum yum yum. Also, I must add that Eliza Kate was too cute in her little cheerleading outfit Saturday...big bow and all :)

We appreciate the Overstreets accommodating us both weekends. We had a blast and always love our time with them. Camp was hilarious this past weekend....Saturday he wore his State hat...Croom style...and Sunday he found Katey's sunglasses and Kane's watch and then a cell phone..he managed to have all of this in use at one time...
(Camp had just finished a chocolate chip granola bar when he crunked his hat on his head:)

Besides a little football action on the weekends we have started working on a few more home type things. Not anything big too big though. There was a really 80's fan in our guest bedroom that is in the process of being replaced. It's down and the new one is half-way up...I think just that minor change will make a major difference in that room. Also, we are about to start making a fabric headboard for the bed in that room as well. Has anybody done this before? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! I have printed off "how to" instructions and it doesn't look like it would be too hard...I guess we will find out! Hopefully we will have this done in a few weeks...

Happy Tuesday! :)

Jackson

We had a great time in Jackson over the weekend. We got there Friday night in time to celebrate my brother's birthday that was last week. My parents cooked a great meal...as always! All in all he had a great birthday!! No photos taken at this little event...nobody really wanted the camera in their face at 9 o'clock on a Friday night after a long drive and a hard days work!! :)

Saturday was such a fun day. It started off by a few of us giving Kelly Flowers Butler a baby shower. It was great and she really got some cute things! I do have a few pics to share of Kelly's cute little pregnant self and some of the adorable decorations, etc. that we had! :) (none of these can I take credit for :)

Saturday night P.K. Thomas got married and we saw so many people from State that we hadn't seen in a while. The wedding was beautiful and so was his bride, Mary Brook! We're so happy for them & wish them the best!!

We headed back home on Sunday afternoon, but before we left we managed to snap a shot of my parents new precious little puppy, Miley!! She is about eight weeks old and is so sweet and cuddly...I miss her already!

We are headed to Starkville for the game on Saturday...I know you are shocked!:) Surely we'll get in another "W"---just surely! :)

Have a good one!
